Microneedling
Collagen Induction Therapy
Microneedling, sometimes referred to as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the overall appearance and texture of the skin. The treatment uses a professional microneedling device containing very fine sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels within the skin. This controlled process stimulates the skin’s natural healing response and supports the production of collagen and elastin.
Microneedling may help improve the appearance of:
• Fine lines
• Uneven skin texture
• Enlarged pores
• Acne scarring
• Other superficial scarring
• Areas of pigmentation
• Sun-damaged or dull-looking skin
• Stretch marks
• General loss of skin firmness
Individual results vary and suitability will be assessed during consultation.
What happens during treatment?
Your skin will first be thoroughly cleansed and prepared. A professional microneedling device is then passed systematically over the treatment area at a depth appropriate for your skin and the area being treated. A suitable professional serum may be incorporated into the treatment according to your individual skin needs.
Most clients describe the sensation as light scratching or prickling. Certain areas may feel more sensitive than others.
Following treatment, the skin will usually appear pink or red and may feel warm, tight or sensitive — similar to mild sunburn. This generally settles over the following 24–72 hours, although recovery varies between individuals and with treatment intensity.
How many treatments will I need?
Microneedling can be enjoyed as an individual skin-rejuvenation treatment, although a course may be recommended when targeting particular concerns.
A typical programme may consist of approximately 3–6 treatments, usually spaced around 4–6 weeks apart, depending on your skin, treatment depth and goals. Your recommended treatment plan will be discussed during consultation.
Microneedling Aftercare
For the first 24 hours:
• Avoid make-up unless specifically advised otherwise
• Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating
• Avoid swimming, saunas, steam rooms and hot baths/showers
• Avoid touching the skin unnecessarily

For the following several days:
• Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs and other potentially irritating active products until the skin has settled
• Avoid waxing, strong peels and other intensive facial treatments
• Keep the skin well hydrated
• Do not pick or exfoliate any dryness or flaking
Sun protection
Avoid unnecessary direct sun exposure while the skin is recovering and use a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 every day. Your individual aftercare instructions may vary depending on the depth and area treated.
